Why switching often does not help.
People go looking for alternatives when something hurts, and then assume the something is their accounting software. Usually it is not. It is the invoice that went unchased for six weeks, the call that went to voicemail while you were on a job, the receipts in the van. Those survive a migration perfectly intact. Spend a fortnight noticing where the hours actually go, and the right answer normally becomes obvious — sometimes it is a different ledger, often it is not a ledger problem at all.

Is Bizzle a realistic alternative to full accounting software?
For a small UK business, yes: it has the same double-entry ledger underneath, which is the part your accountant cares about. It is a poor fit for a larger business with several entities or a long list of integrations it depends on, and the pages say so.
How do I tell whether the problem is my software or something else?
Keep a note for a fortnight of where the admin hours actually go. If they go on entering and categorising, a better ledger helps. If they go on chasing, filing receipts and calling people back, swapping ledgers moves the problem to a new login.
Is it worth switching just to save money?
Sometimes, but rarely on the subscription alone. The saving that matters is usually the stack around it: the receipt tool, the chasing app, the answering service and the per-seat charges. If those add up to little, staying put is the honest answer, and the pages say so.
What if my accountant recommends one particular product?
Ask them why. Often it is the one their practice is trained on, which is a real reason and worth weighing. Bizzle gives them a free login and a full audit trail, which answers most of the practical objections, but a reluctant accountant is a cost in itself.
