Quoted tonight,
not next week.

Quoting software turns a job into a priced quote you can send the same day, then converts the accepted quote straight into an invoice. Speed matters more than polish: the first credible quote wins a large share of small business work.

Why speed beats presentation

Customers requesting several quotes typically go with one of the first they receive that seems competent. A better-looking quote sent four days later is competing against someone already booked in.

The bottleneck is almost never pricing. It is that quoting happens in the evening, after a full day, when nobody wants to open a laptop.

What a quote should do

  • Set out the scope precisely, because scope is what disputes are actually about.
  • State what is not included, which is worth more than any amount of detail about what is.
  • Carry an expiry date, so material prices moving is not your problem three months later.
  • Be acceptable online with one tap rather than requiring a signed return.
  • Convert into the invoice on acceptance, with nothing retyped.

Learning what your quotes are worth

Quotes sent, accepted and declined are data. Over a year they show your real win rate, which jobs you win on price, and which you consistently under-price.

Most small businesses never see that, because quotes live in sent items. Kept as records, they are the closest thing to a pricing strategy a small business gets.

TERMS USED ON THIS PAGE

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions people ask.

Is a quote legally binding?

A quote is generally an offer that becomes binding when accepted, unlike an estimate which is an indication. The wording matters, so use whichever you actually mean.

Should I include a deposit?

For anything made to order or requiring materials up front, yes. The deposit terms belong in the quote, not in a conversation afterwards.

Can I reuse a quote?

Yes — a previous quote for similar work is the fastest starting point, and a template built from your own history prices better than a generic one.

What happens when a customer accepts?

You are told, the job is ready to book, and the accepted quote becomes the invoice with nothing retyped. The acceptance is kept against the customer's record, which settles most later arguments about what was agreed.
